1940s Universal Geneve oversized Compax chronograph

Founded in 1894, Universal Genève has always made watches of exceptional quality for their price. Among the initiators of wristwatch chronographs, it launched the Universal Genève Compax, a range of chronographs, in 1935. Their particularity, presented for the first time in the history of watchmaking, was a movement with a second column wheel under the dial.

Aesthetically, this watch is very well preserved and well balanced, it has 3 circled counters (small seconds at 9 o’clock, minutes at 3 o’clock, hours at 6 o’clock, large) with a tachymetric scale. Dressed with painted arabic numerals and rectangular pushers, it is driven by the in-house caliber signed Universal Geneve 287 in a 37mm case.
