1950s Jaeger chronograph with Universal Geneve 285 caliber

The history of Jaeger-Lecoultre is rich and full of great timepieces, such as the Reverso, Memovox or Geomatic. It is less known that the firm produced, in the 40s and 50s, some great chronographs ran by the 749D caliber, itself based on based on the mythical Universal Geneve 285 caliber, the one that runs the Uni-Compax. They were ususally branded “Jaeger”, Lecoultre being used for the american market.

This particular one is in excellent condition and presents a rare “Fab Suisse” dial. This mention was added on watches sold on the French market and adds to the rarity of this model.
