1960s Croton Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver “CASD”

Some call it the quintessential Swiss chronograph of the 1960s. Others call it a “Swiss Army knife”.
Indeed, it is the only watch to be, at the same time, a chronograph, a diver, a GMT, a pilot’s watch and a regatta watch.

Aesthetically, it has a beautiful matte black dial with a large broad arrow hand for the hours and dauphine for the minutes. It has a regatta counter with red which adds a real plus to the watch, a black bezel with GMT scale, round pushers and a tachymetric scale on the edge of the dial. The ultimate tool watch, very desirable and typical of the 60s.

Mechanically, this piece is animated by the recognized Valjoux 92 whose column wheel is the masterpiece of the movement.

This chronograph has the wind in its sails, especially since the publication of the excellent book “Chronomaster Only” by Grégoire Rossier and Anthony Marquié.
