1960s Croton Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver “CASD” straight hands

The recent release of the book “Chronomaster Only”, by Grégoire Rossier and Anthony Marquié, has highlighted a series of underrated sport watches produced in the late 60s by Nivada, under the brand Nivada Grenchen or Croton for the American market: the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver.

These watches stand out by a superb design, great movements and excellent construction and finish.

This very cool example makes no exception. Featuring a reverse panda dark gray dial (originally black), a glossy black and silver rotating bezel and a thick dome plexi, it is the ultimate sport chronograph that any watch enthusiast should have in its collection.

Condition

The watch is overall in excellent condition. The very nice glossy black bezel is looking great. The dial is in excellent condition, having lightly discoloured to a rich dark gray tone. The case looks great. Hands show little patina to the original tritium .
