1960s Grand Seiko 57GS ref. 43999 “AD” dial
Grand Seiko has a special place in the world of watchmaking and, honestly, with our identity being inspired by the japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy, not having one in stock was an aberrance, not corrected.
This beautiful piece is one of our favorite from the vintage GS models. Introduced in the early 60s, the 57GS features a strong polished steel case and a beautifully finished sunray dial, enhanced by the famous beveled dauphine hands, showing, as always at GS, an incredible finish level. It was the first Grand Seiko model to feature a date complication.
This execution features also a specific star on the dial, indicating applied indexes (AD). This is the 2nd execution, following the SD (Special dial).
