1960s Wakmann-Gigandet triple date chronograph with pumpkin patina

This very cool triple calendar chronograph produced by Wakmann in the 60’s is a hit. For a limited budget, you get a superbly finished watch, with a great complication and a terrific look. Run by a Valjoux 730, it features a reverse panda dial, a punchy sweep second hand, a nicely designed 37mm case and is best paired, like here, on a racing barenia strap.

Being linked in the past with the history of Breitling, Wakmann has produced some very fine chronographs of high quality. We especially love this version for its bold look, yest easily “dressable” with a crisp white shirt and, why not, a gray prince-of-wales suit.
