1960s Wittnauer Super Compressor ref. 8007

Wittnauer was a brand that was owned by Longines and operated in the American markets. Though they maintained separate factories, Wittnauer was also responsible for importing Longines into the US.

Wittnauer is getting more and more attention from collectors and it is easy to understand why. During several decades, they have produced high grades dive watches and chronographs, the reference 242T even making it to the final 3 in the NASA test run for the to-be Moonwatch, along with the Rolex Daytona and, of course, the Omega Speedmaster.

Among dive watches, Wittnauer is famous for the reference 8007, a superbly designed super compressor watch, sharing the same DNA as the Longines Diver 7150 or the IWC Aquatimer.
