1960s Zodiac Sea Wolf date bakelite bezel with tropical dial
Introducing the Zodiac Sea Wolf Automatic with date and bakelite bezel, a legendary diver’s watch from the Sea Wolf line launched in 1953. Its popularity soared after its presentation at the 1964 World’s Fair.
A true Zodiac icon, the Seawolf’s design has changed surprisingly little since its launch. Its design has never been a question of fashion or prowess, but rather of functionality and reliability in an age of utilitarianism for professionals. Whether here with the black version, which has become tropical, or with its white-faced twin, Zodiac has succeeded in creating timeless watches.
The Sea Wolf features bold triangular hour markers and unique, luminous triangular hands. The metal bezel of the first version is here replaced by a more attractive and seductive bakelite bezel.
Thanks to its Jubiee bracelet made by JB Champion, the Sea Wolf is both comfortable and funky on the wrist. It can be difficult to find one in excellent condition, as the bezel tends to wear quickly.
This timepiece, designed for deep-sea exploration, is still very well preserved and very attractive to any watch enthusiast.
