1970s Omega Speedmaster Professional Mark V ref. 176.0014 “TV”
Among the large Speedmaster family, there are some hidden gems. THe Speedy Mark V, aka “TV Speedmaster” is one of them. Produced in low quantities, it is rarely seen despite a crazy cool-factor and a very strong identity, making it stand out from the whole line.
With its cushion-shaped case, this Speedmaster Mark V makes a bold statement. The blue-grey sunburst dial is also unique to this model.
In terms of design Omega was the first manufacturer to use Omega’s famous “pilot line case”, cut from a massive piece of solid stainless steel with a starburst finish on the case. This daring choice created a real presence on the wrist, enhanced by the colourful and attractive racing dial. The case had a totally new and innovative design, with the glass integrated ainto the case, and the tachymetric bezel incorporated into the glass.
Mechanically this piece is powered by the Omega 1045 caliber, featuring a chronograph, day, date and 24h counter.
