1990s Audemars Piguet Meridian in steel and gold
Audemars Piguet, a prestigious Swiss watchmaking brand, has a rich and illustrious history that spans nearly 150 years. The company was founded in 1875 by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet in the Vallée de Joux, a region renowned for its watchmaking expertise.
With the quartz crisis hitting strong on the watch industry, Audemars Piguet decided to follow the quartz path and designed and launched a few battery-animated models in the 80s. Among them, the Meridian, coming with subtle compass design elements, and a unique bracelet. The production remained low, especially in the 33mm men’s size.
This example is in stunning condition. The bracelet will fit an up to 16,5mm wrist.
