1990s Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref. 56303BA
Audemars Piguet, a reference house in the watchmaking sector, was created in 1875 in the Vallée de Joux. Driven by the vision of Audemars and Piguet, the company is known for producing bold, complicated, and luxurious timepieces, wristwatches as pocket watches. To the dismay of complicated watch enthusiasts, it is thanks to their collaboration with the greatest watch designer, Gerald Genta, that Audemars Piguet is recognized worldwide.
Designed in 1972, the Royal Oak is one of the riskiest bet of the manufacture. When it was released the same year, it became the world’s first luxury sports watch fully made of stainless steel. Gerald Genta designed an atypical watch inspired by a diving helmet locked by large screws to fight against the pressure of the depths.
A financial bet or a pure “coup de cœur”, the Royal Oak is always buzzing. With its vintage look created by the gold case, the octagonal bezel, and the nice anthracite “Tapestry dial”, the watch abides by the Royal Oak DNA. Of course, what is a Royal Oak without its integrated bracelet for a maximal presence on the wrist?
This piece is animated by a quartz movement. It stands out by its deep dark grey dial, rarely seen on this model, and its striking case and bracelet condition, the latter being complete and free of stretch.
