The history of Jaeger-Lecoultre dates back to 1833, in the heart of the Vallée de Joux. During this period, the company has been at the origin of numerous timepieces and great horological achievements, such as the Reverso, the Memovox and the Geomatic. Among the most famous and interesting timepieces produced by the manufacture is the Futurematic.

Launched in 1956 on the European market, technically advanced for the era, it features a back-crown and a power reserve indicator on the left part of the dial. It also has the particularity to stop when only 3 hours of reserve are remaining. This is aimed to make sure it instantly works when taken in hands.
