1960s Jean Richard Aquastar 1701 “Cressi Sub”

Neither the name nor the brand had acquired in 1960 the legitimacy that would soon be theirs in the field of diving watches.

Nevertheless, against the rise of all divers who surf on the development of recreational diving, the Aquastar 1701 inks in a healthier foundation: certified water resistance of 200m, an A. Schield AS1701 movement, excellent legibility and the case back engraved with the famous star key that will become the signature of all Aquastar watches.

Produced over a very short period of time, from 1958 to 1962, this piece is the perfect archetype of the diver’s watch, with a rotating bezel, large crown, index and sword hands with luminous material.

Indicated under the Geneva on the dial, this version is all the rarer as it is part of the order made for Cressi-Sub, an Italian company manufacturing diving products.
