Rolex Datejust ref.16234 with Sodalite dial
Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf, like no other company, the success of the Rolex wristwatch can be attributed to many of Rolex’s innovations and the genius of its creator. These innovations include their famous “Oyster” case — the world’s first water resistant and dustproof watch case, invented in 1926 — and their “Perpetual” — the first reliable self-winding movement for wristwatches launched in 1933. That is those innovations that would form the foundation of the Rolex Datejust introduced in 1945.
You will understand that the Rolex Datejust is part of these watches with a timeless look and essential to all lovers of fine watchmaking.
Created in 1945, the Datejust has known many changes and different confections. Among the rarest of them, the 16234 and its higly coveted and colorful sodalite dial. Constituent of the Lapiz, this sodalite dial is in superb condition, usually fragile, it has no cracks.
To sublimate this dial, the watch is composed of 10 diamond inserts, as well as beautiful baton hands. It has a stainless steel case with a diameter of 36 mm and a fluted bezel in 18K white gold in perfect condition.
The watch is powered by reliable, robust, and precise 3135 movement and comes with a non-stretchable stainless steel jubilee bracelet.
