1970s Lip “Rainbow” oversized chronograph

Lip, a renowned French watchmaking company, was founded in 1867 by Emmanuel Lipmann in Besançon, France. Over the years, Lip has played a significant role in the horological landscape, creating timepieces that blend craftsmanship, innovation, and distinctive design.

In the mid-20th century, Lip collaborated with renowned modernist designers like Roger Tallon and collaborated on the creation of iconic timepieces such as the Lip Mach 2000. These watches were not only functional but also celebrated as design masterpieces, capturing the spirit of their time.

This piece is a beautiful chronograph made in the 1970s with high quality Swiss parts, including its 37mm chromed case and its Valjoux 7734 movement. It is in great condition and features a rare and funky “rainbow” dial showing bold color scheme.
