The brand Yema, founded in 1948 by Henry Louis Belmont, has a rich history in the realm of French watchmaking. Yema quickly gained recognition for its innovative and affordable timepieces, becoming popular among watch enthusiasts.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Yema made history with iconic models like the Yema Superman, a renowned dive watch celebrated for its durability and advanced features. It was used by professionals and military divers.

Over the decades, Yema continued to expand its range of watches to include models for various activities, from sports to aviation. The brand has also been associated with exceptional achievements, including providing watches for French space expeditions in the 1980s.

From 1969, Yema produced a handful of regatta chronographs featuring a 10 minutes countdown instead of the traditional second chronograph disc. Based on a modified Valjoux 7733, these watches were produced in the strong and distinctive 850737 Yema case, thick, large (42mm) and with beautifully designed crown-guards.

It is commonly admitted that only 25 of them are known, which makes it a very hard catch. And as you will admit that the condition of the example we are offering is simply outstanding, we are not afraid to say that this one is among the best examples out there.
