Ebel

Founded in 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Ebel was established by husband-and-wife duo Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy—whose initials gave birth to the brand name (Eugène Blum Et Lévy). From its inception, Ebel positioned itself at the intersection of elegant design and Swiss precision, becoming known for its refined aesthetic and technical craftsmanship. Early on, the brand built its reputation through innovation, including a patented ring-shaped clasp in 1914 and its role as a supplier of chronometers to the Swiss army during World War II. Ebel's commitment to quality earned it the prestigious Geneva Seal in the 1920s, solidifying its place among respected Swiss watchmakers.

Ebel reached new heights in the late 20th century, particularly under the leadership of Pierre-Alain Blum, the founder’s grandson. During the 1970s and 1980s, Ebel gained recognition for the Sport Classic line, distinguished by its signature wave bracelet and harmonious design—an icon that helped redefine luxury sports watches. The brand also played a discreet yet critical role in the quartz era, assembling movements for other esteemed Swiss maisons, including Cartier. Today, Ebel continues to honor its design-first philosophy, producing timepieces that balance architectural elegance with enduring watchmaking heritage, appealing to those who value both form and function.
