Breguet Classique Lady in yellow gold

1990 | Yellow gold | Manual | 26.0mm

Sale price€8.900,00

Breguet's Classique collection carries the weight of horological history more directly than almost any other modern line: Abraham-Louis Breguet's innovations from the late eighteenth century remain visible in every detail, deliberately preserved across two centuries of continuation. This 26mm lady's example distils that heritage into a scale that loses none of the substance.

The dial is unmistakably Breguet: the engine-turned guilloché surface, hand-executed in the manufacture's own ateliers, catches light differently across its two distinct zones: a finer pattern in the upper field, a contrasting texture within the small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock. The roman numerals circle the dial, while the famous Breguet hands, with their off-centre moon-tip counterweights, point with quiet precision. The crown, set with a sapphire, is a signature touch carried through the entire modern collection.

The 18k yellow gold case is paired with an integrated gold mesh bracelet of considerable softness, a fine woven construction that drapes rather than sits on the wrist, adding a tactile, almost textile quality to a piece that is otherwise pure precision engineering.

A Breguet Classique Lady is horology distilled to its essentials, worn as jewellery without ever ceasing to be a serious watch.

Breguet

Founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet in Paris, Breguet is one of the oldest and most historically significant watchmakers in the world. Renowned as a pioneer of horological innovation, Breguet introduced groundbreaking inventions such as the tourbillon, the Breguet balance spring, and the first wristwatch, created in 1812 for Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples. His clients included European royalty, intellectuals, and influential figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte and Marie Antoinette. Breguet’s aesthetic codes—fluted casebands, blued hands, and guilloché dials—remain hallmarks of the brand’s identity and have defined classical watch design for over two centuries.

Now headquartered in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland, and part of the Swatch Group, Breguet continues to honor its legacy through exquisite craftsmanship and technical excellence. The brand maintains an in-house approach to manufacturing, producing highly finished calibers that often incorporate complications such as perpetual calendars, minute repeaters, and tourbillons. Contemporary Breguet collections like the Classique, Marine, and Tradition reflect the maison’s dedication to heritage while embracing modern advancements. Each timepiece is a testament to Breguet’s enduring influence on fine watchmaking and its ongoing role in shaping horological history.
