The Seamaster was introduced in 1948 as Omega's everyday companion: robust enough for active wear, refined enough for everything else. By the early 1950s, the model had found its most interesting dial configurations, and the waffle texture is among the most compelling of them: a fine, cross-hatched guilloché pattern covering the entire surface, catching light in thousands of small reflections that make the dial appear almost textile.

This example carries the dual tone version of that dial, a two-zone composition where the inner field and the outer chapter ring present in different tones, one warm gold, the other slightly cooler, creating a subtle but effective sense of depth. Applied baton indices in gilt, the script Seamaster signature below centre, blued steel hands: everything reads with the clarity and warmth that early 1950s Omega dialling consistently achieved.
