Omega Seamaster reference 166.010 silver dial, with original bracelet

1960 | Stainless steel | Automatic | 34.0mm

Sale price€0,00

The 166.010 is the straightforward companion to the chronometer-certified 168.024 — same case, same DNA, without the COSC designation. Which, depending on how you look at it, makes it the more honest proposition: a well-built Omega automatic from the early 1970s that never needed a certificate to justify itself.

The silver dial follows the period formula with quiet confidence — applied baton indices, clean typography, no excess. It is the kind of dial that reads perfectly at a glance and rewards closer inspection equally well. The round steel case sits at a versatile size, equally at home with a suit or a weekend shirt.

This example presents in very good condition, complete with its original bracelet — a detail worth emphasising, as period-correct bracelets on Seamasters of this generation are increasingly hard to find intact. The overall impression is of a watch that has lived a normal life and been reasonably cared for.

An unpretentious, thoroughly wearable Omega from an era when the brand was building some of its finest everyday movements.

Omega

Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Omega has grown to become one of the most renowned and respected names in the world of horology. In 1894, Omega revolutionized watchmaking with the introduction of the 19-ligne "Omega" caliber, known for its groundbreaking precision and ease of repair. This innovation marked a turning point for the company, which was soon renamed "Omega" in recognition of the caliber's success.

Omega's reputation for accuracy was further solidified when it became the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games in 1932, a role it still holds today. The brand’s dedication to precision was also demonstrated in 1969, when the Omega Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the Moon during NASA's Apollo 11 mission. Over the decades, Omega has introduced iconic collections such as the Seamaster, Speedmaster, and Constellation, blending cutting-edge technology with elegant design. Omega watches are not only known for their technical excellence but also for their association with explorers, athletes, and adventurers who push the limits of human achievement.
