longside the Oyster Perpetual that made its name, Rolex ran a quieter parallel line through the mid-twentieth century, the Precision, dedicated to manually wound dress watches that traded tool watch functionality for pure refinement. These pieces rarely get the attention of their sportier siblings, yet they represent some of the most elegant design work to come out of the brand in this period.

This example is cased in 18k rose gold at 31.5mm, with a striking guilloché dial, the fine engine turned pattern catching the light differently depending on the angle, a level of dial work rarely seen on a watch of this size and era. The case retains its clean, restrained lines typical of Rolex dress watches from the period.

Having gone through a restoration carried out directly by Rolex, the watch presents in exceptional condition, dial and case both brought back with the precision only the manufacture itself can offer. A genuinely rare find, and one that speaks for itself, and it comes with its extremely rare Rolex box and a new Rolex strap and buckle.
