By the late 1970s, Vacheron Constantin was navigating the aftermath of the quartz crisis with a range of elegant cushion-cased dress watches that captured the era's taste for softer, more sculptural forms without abandoning the maison's Genevan roots. The reference 2019 is one of those quietly appealing pieces — a watch that wears the period's design sensibility naturally, without ever trying too hard.

The yellow gold case houses calibre K1014, a manually wound movement of 17 jewels adjusted to five positions. The champagne dial with black Roman numerals and black baton hands is warm and legible, signed "Vacheron & Constantin Genève" in the traditional manner. The overall proportions are generous without being imposing — a watch that disappears on the wrist in the best possible way.
