Patek Philippe introduced the reference 3919 in 1985, at a moment when the brand needed a single watch that could sum up everything it stood for. The result borrowed a detail that had quietly existed in the Calatrava family since the 1930s, the Clous de Paris hobnail bezel, and built the whole design around it. It worked so well that the 3919 became the defining Calatrava of its generation, worn and recognized well beyond watch circles, and stayed in production until 2006.

This example is cased in 18k rose gold, 33mm, with the classic white dial, black Roman numerals and a small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock, powered by Patek's manual winding caliber 215 PS. The proportions are exactly what made this reference so enduring: understated, perfectly balanced, nothing superfluous.

Condition here is exceptional, and it comes as a full set with its original box and papers. A watch that needs no introduction, and one that rarely turns up in this kind of state.
